Where did June go? Already we are staring the 4th of July right in the face!
Fishing remains very good in the B.L.A as we transition into Summer patterns now for the most of our species we target. Water temps have remained a little cooler than normal for this time of summer and that has kept a consistent bite going.
WALLEYE– on days with favorable conditions, a little wind and overcast, walleyes can be found on North Long, Gull, and Whitefish in 14-22 feet of water. Leeches and Night crawlers on a slip bobber and or rigging are producing fish. Mid lake structure, sunken islands, and wind blowing deeper points are producing.
BASS– is excellent right now on the deeper weed lines on most lakes. Ned rigs, jigs, and plastics or jigs and minnows are best. 10-20 feet on Gull- Pelican- and Hubert in the deeper cabbage beds.
PANFISH– both crappies and sunfish are very active now in 12-18 feet on small jigs with crappie minnows or leeches. Round- Upper Gull, and Edward’s are Great Lakes for good panfish action right now.
PIKE– Deeper weeds, 18-28 feet are kick-in out pike on spinnerbaits, spoons, and bigger jigs and minnows Whitefish- North long- and Nisswa lakes are good.
Happy 4th and Get out on the water and enjoy Summer!
