Happy Summer B.L.A! July is here and it is a great time to be living in central Minnesota! Daytime temps have been in the 80s and with the warm summer nights, water temps have risen into the upper 70’s. It’s very busy on the lakes, but everyone is having fun and enjoying this wonderful place we live in!

WALLEYE– fishing has been a little tougher for the walleyes lately, they can still be caught on the deeper points and sunken islands on Gull, Whitefish, and Edwards in 16-26 feet. Leeches and Crawlers are working best, either on a slip bobber or live bait rigging.

NORTHERNS– Pike fishing is improving daily. They like the warmer water and can be found on the deeper weed lines with a large minnow, or casting bigger paddle tails. North long, Gull, and Pelican are good right now.

BASS– Bass fishing is excellent right now, jigs and plastics, or chatter baits are turning fish on almost all lakes in 12-20 feet, find the deeper cabbage weeds and you’ll catch bass. Nisswa lake, Round, and Gull are all very good bets.

PANFISH– Sunnies are biting on small jigs and wax worms in 6-14 feet. Crappies are scattered now, but in low light conditions you’ll get some.

Be safe and Enjoy this Magical time of Summer!!
