Welcome September! Although the calendar says Fall should be here, Summer in the B.L.A continues to hang on. Temps continue to be way above normal, and the fish are still hanging on to summer like patterns.
WALLEYES – A decent bite on walleyes is happening on jigs and crawlers or Lindy rigs and chubs in 18- 28 feet. Gull, Pelican. And Whitefish continue to produce.
BASS – Are still active along the deeper weed lines on Hubert, Upper Gull, and North long. Chatter baits and Crank baits in 12-20 feet.
PANFISH – Both Crappies and Sunny’s are biting on Small jigs and plastics or Wax Worms on Gull, Sylvan, and Lower Cullen.
PIKE – Northerns are a bit scattered right now, but the bigger pike are deeper on North Long, Edwards, And Gull. 22-4 feet with deep diving crank-baits or larger minnows on a heavier jig.
The next month is when the bite should go crazy for all species!!
