Welcome August! The “Dog” Days of Summer are here as we start to wind down summer!
Fishing remains very good on the B.L.A.
WALLEYES – Pelican, Whitefish, and Gull continue to be your best bet for walleyes. While the bite is a little more inconsistent now, with some time and the right conditions you can still get some. Lindy rigs and Chubs in 16-28 feet or slip bobbers and leeches in 12-20 feet.
BASS – The bass action remains strong on the deeper weed lines on Nisswa, Gull, and Lake Hubert. Ned rigs, Jigs and Plastics or minnows in 12-20 feet.
NORTHERNS – Some of the best pike fishing of the year is happening now. Nice sized northerns are biting on bigger spinners and spoons in 20-30 feet on North Long, Upper Gull, and Pelican.
PANFISH – Nice sunfish and a few crappies are active in most lakes on the deeper weed humps and points on leeches, crappie minnows, and small plastics. Lower Cullen, Gull, and Sylvan have been very good.
Get out and Enjoy the last month of Summer!
