Mid August Fishing Report in the B.L.A.

WALLEYES – walleye fishing continues to be a little up and down. Some days are pretty good and some its pretty tough. With a little work you can still get some fish on Gull – Pelican – and Whitefish in 16-26 feet on rigs and chubs and night crawlers, pulling small spinners with leeches is getting a handful too.
NORTHERNS- Pike fishing remains very good on Pelican, North Long, and Gull in 18-30 feet using bigger minnows and jigs or deep running crankbaits.
BASS- Bass fishing is excellent along deeper weedlines on North Long – Gull – and Hubert. Deeper humps are also kicking out fish on ned rigs, jigs, and plastics, or  a bobber and leech.
PANFISH- Sunnies and Crappies are biting in the 10-14 feet weed edges on the south end of Gull – North Long- and Lower Cullen. Small jigs tipped with Crappie Minnows or Plastics.
