Summer fishing is going strong in the B.L.A. – WALLEYES can be a little tough right now, but you can still get them by moving a lot – Depths between 14-26 feet, Leeches and Crawlers continue to be the best. The BASS fishing has and continues to be EXCELLENT. Find a Weed line and pitch a jig and night crawler or plastic worm, spinner baits and jigs and minnows in 10-18 feet. The PIKE are still mixed in with the bass, but the bigger Pike seem to be running deeper. catching them in the 8-28 range. Try a big bobber and sucker minnow. PANFISH are active in the 10-14 feet cabbage beds- Gull, Whitefish and Pelican are definitely the best lakes right now -with water temps now finally getting to the summer mode- the fish should continue to be active. Fishing continues to be excellent in the BLA. The Bass and Pike have been excellent, 10-16 feet along the weed lines with plastic or Jig and minnows continue to produce numbers and size of fish, Gull, Pelican, and the whitefish chain have been the best. Walleye have been a little more inconsistent but you can still put a nice catch together, leeches and crawlers have been the best in 16-20 feet of water. Panfish is good in 8-12 foot cabbage beds on crappie minnows and leeches. Its a great time to book a guided trip!! Just give us a call at (218) 963-2547.

Fishing in the BLA continues to be very good. Walleyes can be found on Gull, Pelican, and Whitefish in 16-26 feet of water, Leeches and Night Crawlers have been the best bait. The Bass and Pike fishing is excellent along the weed lines on most lakes- Gull, North long, and Round are producing on plastics and jigs tipped with a Pike Sucker or Chub. Panfish have moved to the cabbage beds in 8-12 feet, but have been very active- using small leeches, angle worms, wax worms, crappie minnows, small jig or flu flu. Fishing is starting to change as the weather changes still. Not a strong consistent bite but we are getting a few. Walleyes have been in about 12-24 feet of water, Gull, North long and Pelican lake have been good fishing prepare to use a Jig, Lindy Rig and a bobber with a Leech, Night crawler, Small minnow like a Fathead or a Larger Minnow like a Shiner or a Chub. Bass fishing has been decent on Gull and North Long roughly 8-15 feet jigging with a plastic worm or a Night Crawler also casting a spinner bait. Northern Pike are active shallow and deep but mainly 12-18 feet, still running with Bass and Walleye in a nice casual after noon bite using a Bobber with a Sucker Minnow. Pan Fishing (Crappies and Sunnie’s) have been in 6-14 Feet in deep cabbage beds using a small jig or Flu Flu of some sorts with Crappie Minnows, Small Leeches and Wax Worms.
