Fishing in the Brainerd Lakes Area is good for all species right now. Summer like temps have really warmed the lakes and the fish have been active!
WALLEYES– Jigs and minnows or slip bobber and a leech or crawler are turning fish on Gull- Pelican- and North long. The points and sunken islands are holding fish in 10-18 feet.
BASS– Most lakes now have emerging weed lines, and the bass are moving into these areas. Many are post spawn and feeding. Jigs and plastics, ned rigs, and spinner baits are catching in 6-16 feet on Gull, Pelican, and Hubert are all producing.
CRAPPIES– are now staging in the deep cabbage but still can be caught it 5-14 feet on crappie minnows and small jigs- Sylvan, Hubert and Gull are all producing.
PIKE– are biting on the weed lines on Whitefish and Gull on jigs and minnows in 10-20 feet!
