What a great fishing opener weekend!! The weather was fantastic and for the most part the fish cooperated too. Walleyes were found on the shallow flats and break lines in 6-16 ft of water, fishing with  a shiner and leeches – Gull lake – Pelican – North long were all producers!! Northern were often mixed in with the walleyes as well and more than a few were caught!
The Panfish continue to be very active, with the warming waters many have now moved into there spawning locations at about 2-6 ft of water – fishing with a small jig under a bobber with either a crappie minnow or wax worm – Hubert – North Long – Whitefish are all a good choice with the shallow bays being where the good action is!
