Fishing continues to be very good in the B.L.A. Now that we are at the mid-summer point of the season, the fish are showing up in their summer hangouts. BASS action is HOT right now, plastics, crank baits, jigs tipped with minnows are all catching- find the deeper weed lines on most lakes in the area and you’ll find bass- Hubert – Gull – and Edwards are all good bets in 8-18 feet. WALLEYES can be had with a little work on Gull -Whitefish – and Pelican in 14-24 feet – slip bobbers and leeches or night crawlers continue to put fish in the boat. PIKE are hitting on Upper Gull – Hubert – and North Long on spinner baits tipped with a sucker minnow in 12-20 ft. PANFISH are deeper now, in the right conditions you can still catch some nice sunfish in the Cullen lakes – Edna – and the South End of Gull.
