August is here! With cooler nights coming the fish are definitely in there late summer haunts. WALLEYES are being caught on leeches and night crawlers in 16-24 feet, especially when the wind is blowing – Whitefish – Gull – and North Long are your best options now. PIKE have moved deeper on Upper Gull – Pelican – and Whitefish on a bigger creek chub or Sucker Minnow in 26-32 feet. BASS continue to provide lots of action along the deeper cabbage weeds on plastics, crank baits, and jig/ minnow combinations in 10-18 feet of water on Hubert- Gull – and North long. PANFISH are more scattered now along the deeper weeds in 10-14 feet, but can be caught on smaller jigs with crappie minnows and leeches on Sylvan – Hubert – and the South end of Gull.
Good luck out there and enjoy these “days off” at summer. Call 218-829-7010 to book a guide trip now!!
