With August winding down, Fall is just around the corner! The fishing in the Brainerd Lakes Area remains solid, with “Summer” like weather and conditions persisting, it sure doesn’t seem like Fall is coming. With water temps still in the mid 70s the fish are hanging in the same general areas that they have been for the last month. WALLEYES can be found, but can be finicky biters. You can still catch some on  Red-tails , and Night Crawlers on Pelican – Edward’s – and Gull in 20-26 feet of water – Windy days have been better. PIKE action is good on Whitefish – Upper Gull – and North Long in 18-30 feet on Bigger creek chubs and spinner baits have been good. BASS action remains excellent on most lakes with deeper weed lines – Plastics, Crank Baits, and jig/ minnow combinations are all producing, Hubert – Middle Cullen – and Gull are all doing well. PANFISH have dropped in to the deeper cabbage in 12-18 feet – waxis or crappie minnows on small jigs have been working on North Long – Pelican – and Gull.

Book a fall fishing trip now! September is a great month to fish in the B.L.A for all species! Call S and W bait at 218-829-7010.

Good Luck on the water and be safe!
